Teaching English to this group of 20 young people has been a joy (not always easy, but well worth the effort). As a class, they are attentive and want to become better English speakers. Their desire is to sound just like Americans. Some of their favorite phrases are: “What’ll ya have?” and “Howd’ja like lunch?” They also like to sing and have class competitions. As our camp song very aptly states, “We’ll hate to leave and say goodbye at English Camp.” Having spent 30 some odd hours of class time together during these last 2 weeks, it will be hard to part with these dear ones and with the wonderful staff who ahve supported our efforts. In 2 days, our team will leave Fangshan, heading for a quick tour of Beijing before heading home. As we go, we long for our students to carry what they learned here - in their hearts - always.
