This summer's English camp is actually two one-week camps rather than one ten-day camp, and the first camp ended yesterday. It had gone very well, and the parents seemed to be quite pleased as they picked up their children. Of the forty-five students we had, several of them had been here previously. That's a great testimony for the camp here that parents are so pleased that they keep on returning. The closing assembly for the first camp began at 2:00 yesterday, and the kids were gone by 4:30. We "foreigners" were able to relax briefly but left this morning at 7:00 to go to the Beijing Garden Expo. It was beautiful, but we had to leave there by 11:30 to get back for lunch -- and the kids for the second camp began showing up at 1:30. We tested each of the thirty-two who came; assigned them to the appropriate class according to their English-speaking ability; and then had our introductory meeting, introducing the teachers, assistants, and interpreters, and letting the parents know our expectations for the camp. So now we are looking forward to the challenges of our second week! Thank you so much for your interest in this work.
