Hello from China!

We finished up our English Camp yesterday (Friday), and everything went very well. We will have our Closing Ceremony on Monday morning for the parents of our Kindergarten students. Originally we were planning to do clean up today (Saturday), but we woke up to no water at the orphanage where we are staying, and it is doubtful that the situation will be resolved today, so we may end up moving to a hotel for the week-end. Other than that, things have gone pretty smoothly. We have a great team, and they have been a great blessing to the Kindergarten students and staff!

Hello friends and family,
The adventures in China have been great. Tonight (Wednesday), we had a fun evening visiting with the Kindergarten teachers and staff. We took turns singing and then the games came out... Have you ever seen 20 young adults standing on a line of kids' chairs trying to move the person from each end of the line to the other without falling off? Or how about tying ten people together to run an obstacle course? I'm sure you've tried to eat a bowl of marshmallows before the next person rolls a one or a three? Those are just a few of the fun things we do around here. It has been great!

On Tuesday, Katie, Tyler and I spent the day out on the Great Wall. We took a walk to the bus stop, a bus ride to the bus transfer, then to the Subway, a transfer to another Subway train to the train station. It took us two hours just to get to the tour train. It was a beautiful ride up to Badaling. We ate at a pulled noodle shop, then off to the wall. Katie and I climbed up to four towers on the wall, but Tyler was the champ, climbing twelve towers!

We got back to the city and had dumplings for dinner. So yummy! We finally got "home" close to 10:00. It was a long but wonderful day.

Overall, camp is going well. It is hard to believe we are at the end. It has run smoothly, and I hope it continues that way. I look forward to seeing you all and sharing even more! --Beth
